Anti-social behaviour operation
Police have launched a new initiative to tackle anti-social behaviour in Cambusbarron.
Officers this week launched Operation Will which is to run until Thursday, May 28, in the village.
The operation will see additional officers deployed to the village to carry out high visibility patrols along with the local ward officers – Ross Barclay and Pam King – to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug misuse.
The operation got underway at the weekend. The day before its launch officers dealt with three males riding scrambler bikes in Cambusbarron Quarry and another individual was stopped and searched and was found in possession of controlled drugs.
Inspector Lynsey Kidd, from Stirling Police Office, said:“Operation Will was launched in response to recent complaints of anti-social behaviour and drug use and dealing in Cambusbarron and will run from Friday, May 15, to Thursday, May 28.
“The operation will see additional officers deployed to the village to carry out high visibility reassurance patrols to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and drug misuse with an overall aim to improve the quality of life of people living in the area.
“Officers will be focusing patrols in and around Thomson Place, Burnside, Gillies Hill / Cambusbarron Quarry (Quarry Road), Woolcarders Court, Birkhill Road, and will be distributing letters, ASB leaflets and a Crimestoppers contact card to residents in those areas whilst on patrol.”
