ALLAN CHURCH

Service of Sunday, May 17 by Rev. Ken Russell will be online for the week. Mr Russell is compiling a new service weekly to be posted on the church website www. allanchurch.org for all members of the churches and wider community. Previous services and reflections are available to see on YouTube – please follow the guide on church website. For those who have no access to internet Rev Ken Russell has recorded a short message for the congregation which you can access via your home phone. The number to call is 01786 641089. There will be a new message every week.

BANNOCKBURN HOUSE

The board continues to meet virtually each month, ensuring that the charity continues to run as smoothly as possible in the present circumstances. The trust has been able to take on staff members through Scottish Government funding. Posts filled are Project Support Manager, Events Manager, Operations Manager and Volunteer Organiser. The trust was able to distribute 50 bags of compost, potato seeds and growing guidelines to the Bannockburn community as part of the project with the Climate Challenge Fund. We would love to see how you are getting on growing your tatties, so please share updates with us via email (marketing@bannockburnhouse.scot) or on Facebook. Although volunteers are unable to visit, they have been keeping in touch every Wednesday by having virtual coffee mornings. The history group has also been holding regular meetings virtually. A series of lectures is also taking place every Wednesday at 2pm via Zoom, featuring Dr Murray Cook and Jim Roche. These have proved to be popular and topics still to be covered include “The Roman Empire and Stirling”, “Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in the Great War”, “Why did the Scots really win at
