Musician, songwriter and East Loch Lomondside resident Dave Arcari releases a new EP on Tuesday, June 2.

The Acoustic Roots of Dave Arcari is a five-song EP featuring cover versions from artists that influenced him when he started out playing guitar — and it’s release is scheduled for a few hours after a special one-off livestream concert on Monday. Unusually for Dave (left), who normally sticks to self-written material, the hour-long livestream will feature a set-list of covers from artists like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Donovan and more - even some 50s rock’n’roll.

“A lot of the material will be stuff I played busking on the streets of Glasgow, Wishaw and Kirkcaldy when learning guitar in the early/mid-1980s,”said Dave, who is keen to keep giving folks something different in his livestreams during this difficult lockdown period.

“While not a secret, we’ve been keeping the release fairly quiet, so it can be a nice addition to the livestream and folks will be able to stream/download the EP from midnight just an hour or two after the livestream finished.”

As well as performing in front of live audience, Dave has missed the interaction with gig-goers after shows.

“We’ll also be having a live Q&A/chat session as part of the livestream right after the concert finishes,”he added.“Like at a ‘real’show, Margaret will be at the merch table and I’ll join her so we can enjoy a chat and drink — albeit virtually’— with folks.”

The Acoustic Roots of Dave Arcari livestream is at 8pm on Monday, June 1 at www. facebook.com/DaveArcariMusic.

“Firefighters left after the area was made safe.”
