Repair works to two bridges get underway

-

Essential bridge works are set to take place between Stirling and Callander from Monday.

Teams will be repairing the bridge deck and carrying out underside concrete repairs on the A84 Drip Bridge in Stirling and the A84 Keltie Bridge near Callander from June 22.

BEAR Scotland say the works, which will last for around six weeks at both locations, are vital to the integrity and safety of the trunk road network.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists, the carriageway will be reduced to one lane over each bridge under temporary traffic lights.

Further maintenance work on the A84 Drip Bridge is expected to take place next year.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative, said:“We’ve arranged for the work to minimise impact on key workers and those making essential journeys. The lower level of traffic using the trunk road network at this current time means it may be more straightforward to carry out these essential maintenance projects on the A84.

“At this difficult time the safety of our employees and our supply chain remains a top priority during these essential projects, and all personnel will be subject to strict physical distancing protocols in line with Government guidance to ensure they are kept safe.

“Our teams will do all they can to ensure that project is completed as quickly and as safely as possible.”
