Fishing from the bank Davie Hunter caught and released four, Donald McPherson had two fish weighing 5lb, Andy Hunter four c/r, Gerry Grattan kept two weighing 6lb and released two, Albert McKinnes c/r three. Sandy Falconer two for 4lb, Ronnie Pass c/r four, Peter Grubb two for 5lb 8oz, Raymond Pirrie c/r 14 and Jim Keatings kept two fish weighing 4lb and released a further two.

Included in the boat returns was Craig Gibbons from Falkirk who kept three weighing 8lb, Mark Ferry and Jimmy Short caught and released 15, George Keith and Tom Lansdown five weighing 12lb and two released, Louis Hansen and Stan Guzik kept three weighing 6lb 8oz and released four, Robert Dalgleish and party kept 10 fish weighing 22lb 4oz. Davie Joyce and Gary Johnston c/r eight, Robert Gibson and Andy Rutherford c/r seven, George McEwan and party took 22 fish weighing 39lb 7oz, Chris Ward and Stuart Todd c/r nine, Willie Kennan and John Lockhart had seven weighing 17lb, Marshall Jamieson and party had five fish weighing 11lb 6oz, Dave McIntosh and party kept eight for 20lb and released eight and Davie McKay kept three fish weighing 6lb 8oz.

The best catching flies proved to be the Ally McCoist, Orange Blob, Cormorant, Beaded Ace of Spades, Coral Fab, Sedgehog, Cats Whisker and the Olive Buzzer whilst all areas continue to fish well. had two fish for 7lbs on an Ally and William Docherty (Tillicoult­ry) used Buzzers to catch two for 5lbs 4oz.

John Fleming Snr and Jnr used Buzzers to share a catch and release basket of 15 fish, Graham Brownrigg (Glasgow) managed a couple for 6lbs on an Ally, Mark Brownrigg (Callander) two fish for 5lbs on a Dawson’s Olive, Ivor Campbell (Aberfoyle) two fish 6lbs 4oz on an Ally and Jim Coghlan from Auchterard­er had a four-pounder on a Black Cat. an occasional Brown.

For much of the week the fish were on or near the surface and tended to be feeding just under the top. Anglers were reporting lots of follows and fish willing to chase so a fast retrieve was working well.

On Swanswater, small lures, nymphs and wet flies were all taking fish with some of the favourite patterns being Yellow Dancer, Damsel, Bloodworm, Buzzer, Diawl Bach, Cormorant and Kate McLaren. On the bait pond, anglers were having success with maggots, mice tails and power bait.

The fishery is open from 8am to 2.30pm and 5-9.30pm every day except Thursday when there is no evening session. Please phone, email or message to book especially at weekends.

A buzzer suspended 10ft down is a good option.

In the warm weather in the calm water there has been phenomenal fish activity especially late at night as midsummer appraoches.

There are plans to build a new booking and paying system in the background which is more customer friendly and to continue with this system for the rest of the season.

It is planned to kick off a socially distant boat league from Wednesday, June 26 at 6pm. New members welcome - £20 entry fee. Prizes dependent on the number of entries. There will be no results given at the end of the night. Please contact the fishery to register or re-register an interest.
