Deathof girl(16) probed

A teenage girl has tragically died after becoming ill in Stirling on Wednesday evening.

The 16-year-old became unwell in Lower Bridge Street at around 10pm. Police officers attended and the girl was rushed to Forth Valley Royal Hospital by ambulance for treatment. However, the girl died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:“An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of the death which is currently being treated as unexplained.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
