Women from Stirling district were among those who took part in a charity hike earlier this month to raise money for a variety of Scottish charities.
Lynne Bryce and Joanne Inglis (Blairdrummond) Wendy Morrison (Doune), Catriona Willison (Fintry) and Sarah Ross (Saline) were in a group walking in aid of Strathcarron Hospice;
Pam Black and Yvonne Arnott (Thornhill) walked for the Beatson Cancer Charity; Katie Brisbane (Blairdrummond) and Sheila Keron (Crieff ) walked for the Royal Highland Educational Trust (RHET) Forth Valley, and Emily Holl (Blairdrummond) for Alzheimer Scotland.
The 10 women were walking in the Dundee Kiltwalk over three days (July 3 to 5) which became a virtual event due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Katie Brisbane, who created the challenge said:“each of us chose a charity that we have a personal connection with.
“We are very grateful for the support we received in donations and from friends who walked with us.
“We did a couple of walks as a group walking from Mhor 84 to Killin and back 20 miles, and walking from my house Westwood Lane Farm to North Third reservoir and back 19 miles.
“The miles whizzed up as many of our Facebook friends donated money and miles over the three days. It was great fun and highlighted the benefits of getting out and talking.”
The walkers raised £4200 for Strathcarron Hospice, £10,000 for the Beatson, £1250 for RHET Forth Valley and £1006 for Alzheimer Scotland.
