Tullibody mandies inroad accident

There was an outpouring of grief on social media yesterday (Tuesday) following the death of a beloved dad in a road traffic accident in Stirling on Monday night.

Andrew Black, from Tullibody, died following a crash involving a single car on the A9 Bannockbur­n Road at its junction with Braehead Road in Stirling around 10pm.

The 57-year-old, who had been driving a black Vauxhall Astra, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Daughter Hayley Black wrote on on the Police Scotland Forth Valley Facebook page: ‘RIP dad. Until we meet again.’

Condolence­s were also expressed on Facebook by those who knew Mr Black. Among the many expressing grief was Kellyanne Mackenzie, who said: ‘May you rest in peace Andy. Thoughts are with Jayne and your family at this difficult time.’

Lorraine Mcphee said: ‘RIP Andy. Heart breaking for the family. You were such a lovely guy.’

And Allan Mclay said: ‘Rest easy big fella. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family.’

Police Scotland said yesterday that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Sergeant David Marr of the Forth Valley Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Black’s family and friends at this time.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstan­ces which led to this collision.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 3813 of August 3.”
