Tullibody mandies inroad accident

There was an outpouring of grief on social media yesterday (Tuesday) following the death of a beloved dad in a road traffic accident in Stirling on Monday night.

Andrew Black, from Tullibody, died following a crash involving a single car on the A9 Bannockburn Road at its junction with Braehead Road in Stirling around 10pm.

The 57-year-old, who had been driving a black Vauxhall Astra, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Daughter Hayley Black wrote on on the Police Scotland Forth Valley Facebook page: ‘RIP dad. Until we meet again.’

Condolences were also expressed on Facebook by those who knew Mr Black. Among the many expressing grief was Kellyanne Mackenzie, who said: ‘May you rest in peace Andy. Thoughts are with Jayne and your family at this difficult time.’

Lorraine Mcphee said: ‘RIP Andy. Heart breaking for the family. You were such a lovely guy.’

And Allan Mclay said: ‘Rest easy big fella. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family.’

Police Scotland said yesterday that a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Sergeant David Marr of the Forth Valley Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Black’s family and friends at this time.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 3813 of August 3.”
