Emergency traffic measures to continue

-

Emergency Covid-19 traffic management measures already in place across the Stirling Council area will continue, Stirling Council has confirmed.

Temporary measures, including street closures, parking restrictions and speed limits were put in place in Stirling city centre and Bridge of Allan on June 29 to ensure social distancing and safe pedestrian access to shops with the re-opening of non-essential businesses.

Parking restrictions in Bridge of Allan were lifted following an outcry from residents and businesses.

The initial measures in both Stirling city centre and Bridge of Allan were implemented through Emergency Traffic

Regulation Notices. The first ran from June 29 to July 20, and a second order extended the same measures from July 20 until August 9.

Emergency TRNS can stay in place for a maximum of 21 days and can only be extended once.

To ensure continued public safety while social distancing rules remain in force, a new Covid-19 Public Safety Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be put in place from August 9 to continue these existing temporary measures for up to a period of 18 months.
