Stirling Council Archives reopen to the public
Stirling Council Archives reopened to the public on Monday on an appointmentonly basis.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to visit the archives search room and consult the wealth of original primary source material.
Anyone who wishes to use the service can contact the archives to book an appointment and chat about their research needs.
All documents must be ordered in advance, and it will not be possible to order additional items on the day.
Appointment slots of up to one and a half hours can be booked and are available, Monday to Thursday, 9am to 10.30am, 11am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 3.30pm.

Stirling Council Community Planning and Regeneration Committee convener Councillor Chris Kane said:“we are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to our archives service, which offers a wealth of information on Stirling’s and Scotland’s rich history. Whether you are visiting for professional, academic or personal reasons, our archives offer an interesting and enjoyable experience for everyone.”
Vice convener Councillor Scott Farmer, added:“we have introduced some new processes to ensure that both our staff and visitors are protected, and that the services we offer can be delivered safely.
“If you have any questions or just want to chat about your research goals, please get in touch with the service.”
All visitors must wear a face covering during the entirety of their visit unless they have a medical exemption. Toilet facilities will not be available within the building at the moment.
