CHRISTMAS WINDOWS

Buchlyvie and Gartmore Parish Churches have organised Christmas Windows. Similar to Advent Windows in other areas but as this is the first year we didn’t want to keep people waiting before they could light their window. Instead we just want to create festive windows from December 1 to January 6 for everyone to enjoy. Any theme is allowed but suggestion­s are Love, Hope, Peace, Joy and Sharing. The only criteria is that your window must include a star. KIPPEN KIPPEN CHURCH

There will neither be a Zoom service nor a service in Kippen Church on Sunday, December 27. A service conducted by the Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair, will be available online on Youtube and on the Kippen and Norrieston Parish Churches Facebook page. There will be a Zoom Service on Sunday, January 3 at 10am and a service in Kippen Church at 11.15am when numbers will be restricted to 20 now that the area is back in Tier 4. It is requested that those who can attend the Zoom worship do so, allowing those who are not able to access online worship to be able to attend in the church building. Please avoid going to another village for worship as to prevent the virus spreading. Remember, wear a face covering, practise good hand hygiene, stay at home if you have symptoms or feel unwell or have been told to self-isolate. Please keep each other safe and well. Updates of interest can always be found on Facebook “Kippen and Norrieston Parish Churches of Scotland”. Access also via Google. In accordance with Church of Scotland advice, in the meantime the church will be closed and alarmed every day, including weekends. USED STAMPS

Diana Mccall, Firbank, Cauldhame, Kippen, is still collecting used postage stamps for the national charity “Canine Partners” which trains puppies to aid wheelchair users. Please leave a margin of paper around the stamp and hand them to Diana or leave them for her in Mcnicoll’s Stores.

PORT OF MENTEITH PARISH CHURCH

The service on Sunday, December 27 will be at 10am and led by Michael Yuill. A warm welcome awaits. Please bring a face covering with you and your own bible if wished.

THORNHILL NORRIESTON CHURCH

There will be no service in Norrieston Church now until January 10 at the earliest and then numbers will again be restricted to a total of 20 people. Service on Sunday, December 27 will be available online on Youtube and Facebook page and Group with the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair. Over the festrive period a good number of services will be available on radio and television. On Friday, January 1 (New Year’s Day) BBC Scotland has the Moderator featuring “Scented Lavender”. Hopes are that the church will re-open with the minister, the Rev Ellen Larson Davidson, on January 10, but all things can change
