It added:“The newly-built canopy and the adjacent lamp post are to be used to mount a portion of the fittings”.

Two violent thugs who tried to murder a man in a brutal knife attack in a Stirling street were each jailed last Friday.

Hayden Stewart and Curtis White had launched the assault on Alan Perrie in Laurencecroft Road on December 28, 2019.

During the murder bid the pair repeatedly punched the victim to the head and body and struck him with a knife.

White also threw a glass at his face and swung a bag at him.

White (26) also tried to rob Mr Perrie after brandishing a blade at him and demanding he hand over personal belongings.

A judge jailed White for eight years for his part in the offences and sentenced Stewart (23) to seven years imprisonment.

Lady Haldane also ordered at the High Court in Edinburgh that the pair should be monitored for a further three years as an added public protection measure.

Stewart and White, both prisoners at Low Moss jail, Bishopbriggs, had earlier denied a string of charges at a trial at the High Court in

Glasgow.

But the jury found them both guilty of the attempted murder of Mr Perrie.

White was also convicted of the robbery bid.

Stewart was also convicted of being in illegal possession of a knife at Strathmore Drive, Stirling, and White was convicted of the same offence at Laurencecroft Road.
