New homes planned on field
A Blairlogie field has been earmarked for new homes.
Mark McGrath has submitted an application to Stirling Council planners seeking permission to build two detached houses with detached garages, a new road access and shared driveway on land adjacent and east of Guschetneuk in the village.
In documents submitted with the applicant, agents for the applicant said: “The site itself is a large open field with an area of 13,160sqm. It is a relatively flat piece of land covered by long grass, dense shrubs and a row of young trees along the northern boundary.
“The proposal is for two fivebedroom, one-and-a-half storey dwellings with adjacent triple garages. This provides for the accommodation needed and to maximise views of the surrounding rural context. The properties have a footprint of around 300sqm each despite the site having space to accommodate much more. The aim is to retain the natural setting of Blairlogie by limiting the amount of development.
“Each dwelling has been positioned carefully on site to minimise their impact yet maximise views in all directions. They are set back approximately 27 metres from the northern boundary in line with Gushetneuk, 18 metres from the western boundary and 32 metres from the eastern boundary, all of which reduce the building’s dominance from the A91 and neighbouring properties.”
The agents added that the location of the new access road off the A91 had been positioned to maximise vehicular and pedestrian safety and not conflict with access arrangements to the public car park on the opposite site of the road further west.
“The proposal aims to retain as much of the existing landscape as possible,” they said.
Council planners are expected to make a recommendation on the application in due course.
