Good causes are boosted by Lodge funds
Local charities have benefited from the efforts of Lodge members.
Thanks to all those involved in the recent West to East charity walk, Lodge Bailie Nicol Jarvie No:1036 received a cheque for £500 from Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire West.
After then adding funds received due to the piping efforts of IPM Bro John Muir, this enabled the local lodge to donate to local charities nominated by its members. Trossachs Search and Rescue’s Heartstart coordinator Jan Chesham and Heartstart treasurer Joanne Ballantyne were presented with a cheque for £500 by John Gault (RWM).
Meanwhile, receiving a cheque for £50 each for both 1st Gargunnock Guides and 1st Gargunnock Brownies were Lynda McCowan and Sarah Oswald, presented by Duncan Kinloch (PJC) of Provincial Grand Lodge of Perthshire West and Robert Hay (WJW) of Lodge Bailie Nicol Jarvie Robert Hay (WJW).
Gargunnock Senior
Citizens Fund received £100. Duncan Kinloch was joined by Lodge Bailie Nicol Jarvie treasurer Mark Kane to present the cheque to the fund’s representative Anne Muirhead.
A Lodge spokesperson said: “Trossachs Search and Rescue do a fantastic job maintaining, replacing and installing defibrillators throughout the area, as well as coming to the rescue of those in need when outdoors. As a voluntary organisation, this donation will allow them to continue this great lifesaving work throughout the year.
“Gargunnock Guides and Brownies continue to develop the young kids in and around Gargunnock where many of our lodge members reside. With fundraising activities curtailed over the past 18 months, both Guides and Brownies received a cheque for £50. This gave them a vital financial boost to continue the great work they are doing.
“Gargunnock Senior Citizens Fund is another fantastic organisation who raise funds to hold events, clubs and meetings for the senior citizens, ensuring that they are never forgotten.”
