Traditional Guy Fawkes celebrations will be in - almost - full swing this year.

Stirling and Bridge of Allan Round Table have announced that, after a year off, their favourite community event is back.

The charity will be hosting its Fireworks Spectacular & Bonfire, with street food and refreshments, on Friday Nov 5 at Strathallan Games Park.

While the event is ticketed - and vaccine passports will be required - the organisers say they “can’t wait” to welcome people back.

A spokesperson said: “It will be family friendly with refreshments, fireworks, a huge bonfire and lots of fun.

“All profits from this get returned to the local community through our local proceeds initiatives.”

Gates open at 6pm, with the lighting of the bonfire at 6.30pm, fireworks at 7.30pm and the event closes at 7.50pm.

Tickets are £5 adult, £4 concessions, £2 children, and £12 family.

Advanced tickets are required this year through Ticketbo secure online ticketing service.

There is no car parking available at the Games Park or surrounding streets so attendees are asked not to attempt to park in the streets surrounding the Games Park as they must be kept clear for emergency vehicles.

Car parking is available at the University of Stirling, a short walk away on Airthrey Road, FK9 4LA and the Games Park is also a 20-minute walk from Bridge of Allan train station.

“Advanced tickets are required,” said the spokesperson.

“We have to put a limit on the number of attendees in line with government guidance.

“To keep track of the number of people attending, this year we will be selling all tickets in advance. We have partnered with the secure online ticketing services of Ticketebo for the provision of our tickets.

“Please don’t turn up on the night at the gate without a ticket.

“In order to get our event licence and keep people as safe as we can, we need to follow government guidance for large events, so we need to ask people only to attend if they have the NHS COVID Status App or a paper Vaccine Certificate and are happy for this to be checked on the gate. We cannot allow entry without proof of vaccination, unless under 18 or exempt.”
