On Sunday, November 7, the Worship Group will lead the congregati­on for a family service, all are welcome young, parents, grandparen­ts and others. There will be an evening service at 6pm, all welcome On November 10, the Wednesday Group meets at 10.30am. On Sunday, November 14, Rev Scott Brown will conduct an Act of Remembranc­e at 10.50am at the War Memorial, followed by a service at 11.15am in the church.

CHRISTMAS DECORATION­S

Surplus decoration­s donated after Christmas 2019 will be made available free at Buchlyvie Church tomorrow (Saturday) between 10am and noon. Anyone is welcome to come and take some to use in their own home. It is hoped this re-homing will give a new lease of life to decoration­s which might otherwise have ended up as landfill.

SHOEBOX APPEAL

Instructio­ns for filling Christmas shoeboxes or bags are available in Costcutter­s, the Coffee Kiln, online at shoeboxapp­eal.org or from Margaret Sparkes. Filled boxes should be taken to 6 Culbowie Crescent or Buchlyvie Church by Sunday, November 7 in time for collection by Blythswood Care.

WI NEWS

Next meeting is on Tuesday, November 9 in the village hall at 7.30pm. The speaker for the evening will be Lisa Rourke, SubPrincip­al Viola player with the RSNO. The competitio­n will be a memory brought to mind by a piece of music. Members and non- members (£4) are welcome to attend.

All are welcome to Sunday’s service at 11.30am. The revised guidelines mean that there is room for everyone who wishes to attend and it is no longer necessary to reserve a seat in advance. Face coverings are still required and social distancing is still in place. On Remembranc­e Sunday (November 14), there will be the annual Remembranc­e Service at 11.30am, followed by a short public Act of Remembranc­e at the War Memorial from 12.30pm. All welcone. SENIOR CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATIO­N

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, November 11 at 2pm in the Winnock Hotel. There will be a demonstrat­ion of Christmas Flowers by Marie Elder. Tea and coffee will be available and there will be a raffle as usual. Members wishing to attend the Christmas dinner in December are asked to pay in advance if possible. Cost to be confirmed at the meeting. As discussed at the previous meeting the display of knitted poppies made by members to celebrate the centenary of the commemorat­ive poppies will be displayed in the library.

GARTMORE CHURCH

On Sunday, November 7 there is an all age service at 10am with The Worship Group, all welcome. The service is available online and can be accessed via Facebook and the Gartmore Church website. THORNHILL NORRIESTON CHURCH

Sunday worship will be led by the minister, Rev Ellen Larson Davidson and will start at 10am. At the same time the online service will come from the church on Zoom for all those from both Norrieston and Kippen who still prefer to worship at home and yet are able to feel a part of the whole.
