‘Thank-you’ for helping to shape future of beauty spot

-

Scottish Water is saying a big‘thank you’to the hundreds of people who took part in a survey to help shape the future of two Stirlingshire beauty spots.

The online questionnaire was designed to help understand how the increasing number of visitors to Carron Valley and North Third Reservoirs enjoy and perceive them.

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager in the west, said:“North Third and Carron Valley are really popular destinations for people enjoying outdoor activities such as dog walking and mountain biking.

“The survey results will let us know what people particularly like and dislike about them and help us to plan future improvements so they are the best they can be for locals and visitors alike.

“We need to be able to make informed decisions; striking a careful balance between operational needs, historical conservation and cost, while continuing to promote responsible behaviour and water safety.”

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is just one of Scottish Water’s key partners with a strong interest. They manage the land around Carron Valley Reservoir.

Andrew Clark, Regional Visitor Services Manager from Forestry and Land Scotland said:“We are committed to working in partnership with Scottish Water at Carron Valley and are keen to hear what visitors think about the site and priorities for future improvements.”

Carron Valley supplies approximately 135,000 customers and many key business customers within the Forth Valley and surrounding areas.

North Third Reservoir is no longer used as a source of drinking water.
