REFUGEE BOOK BOOSTER

-

Following the success of their first book sale a couple of weeks ago, members of Dunblane Boys’ Brigade decided to run a repeat.

A bright, sunny day brought out the browsers again, with many new books available that they hadn’t had space to display the previous week, and a further £1,047 was collected on the day.

With help from volunteers at Dunblane Cathedral, who had opened up the hall to allow viewing and purchasing of the books between Monday and Friday, another £808 was raised, bringing the total for the week’s funds raised for Ukraine to £1,855.

Boys, BB leaders and parents volunteered, carrying and driving, replenishing stocks and selling, from 8.30am until 2pm, all keen to help support Ukraine’s refugees and those suffering in the country itself.

The funds will all be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee Fund, which the government is matching all donations to.
