Special farming auction

-

Caledonian Marts is to hold a charity auction to raise money for those most affected by the war in Ukraine.

An auction and raffle will take place at the firm’s premises in Stirling at 11am on Saturday, April 23 to raise funds for UNICEF’S campaign to Help Protect Children in Ukraine and for Central Plains Group, a regenerative farming business with operations in Ukraine who are raising funds to help refugees streaming into Western Ukraine from Kyiv and East Ukraine.

All funds raised will be split equally between these two good causes.

Caledonian Marts managing director John Kyle said:“watching the news from Ukraine over the last few days really brought it home how lucky we are to be in Scotland. The directors and I had a chat and decided to organise a fundraiser for those unfortunate enough to be caught up in the war.

“For this special sale, we will take cattle, pigs, sheep or machinery – in fact, anything with a value that can help to make a difference. We will be donating 100 per cent of monies raised to these two causes. Please do donate if you can.”

Any farmer or local business able to donate to this special sale can contact any of the following at Caledonian Marts on 01786 450922 or email John Kyle (john.kyle@ caledonian-marts.com); Nicola Gibb (nicola.gibb@caledonian-marts. com); Gillian Macdougall (gillian@ caledonian-marts.com).
