Students staging Austen’s Emma
Stirling University students are staging the Jane Austen classic Emma next week.
The play – which looks at love, friendship and class – will be held at the Macrobert Arts Centre on Monday April 4 and Tuesday April 5.
The cast features members of Stirling University Drama Society.
It has been directed by third year Psychology student Maddie Dowell and produced by third year student of Film and Media and Sociology Melissa Malcolm.
Melissa said:“the drama society are all really passionate about performing and entertaining and want to catch up on the years of live performance that we have lost.
“We really hope that the community will support our efforts and come along for what will be a night of comedy, romance, and at the heart of it all, drama.”
Maddie added:“we hope that we can proudly say that we helped an audience forget the nightmare that has been the past year or so and that we can bring live theatre back to the students, and community, of Stirling.
“We chose Emma because it just radiates mischief and awkwardness, whilst also being romantic and sweet at heart.
“Our old, and new, members are extremely excited to make Emma a memorable performance”.
Tickets for the show are available from the Macroberts Arts Centre online booking site at https:// macrobertartscentre.org/
