Riverside Bowling Club celebrates its 100th birthday this year with a number of events.

Opening Day is Saturday, April 16 at 2pm kicking off the centenary year in style.

On Saturday, May 14 there will be an Open Day with Try Bowls event from noon and another Try Bowls day on Saturday, June 4 as part of the Queen’s Platinum celebratio­ns with a ceilidh and disco in the clubhouse from 7.30pm.

Other events include an afternoon tea party in the clubhouse on Thursday, June 2 for the local over 60s club, a fun night with barbecue on Wednesday, June 8 from 7pm, coaching classes every Wednesday from May 11 at 7pm and a veteran bowls event with Sports Active and Bowls Scotland from Tuesday, May 3 (5.307.30pm).

There will also be 14 friendlies during the season with local clubs, with Riverside Primary School due to make their annual visits to the club.
