Teams help find missing man (50)

Local mountain rescue teams were involved in the successful search for a missing man in Callander over the weekend.

The search for 50-year-old Steven Routledge - who was found safe and well on Saturday included Killin, Lomond, Ochils and Tayside mountain rescue teams, as well as specialist support from the Search & Rescue Dog Associatio­n and SARDA Southern Scotland.

The multi-agency search saw the teams deployed by Forth Valley Police Division on Friday in the hunt for Steven, who was last seen on Station Road near the Dreadnough­t Hotel in the town.

However, after a two-day search, police shared the good news that they had found Steven and thanked those who had helped out in the search effort.

The statement read:“We are pleased to confirm that 50-yearold Steven Routledge has been traced safe and well. We would like to thank everyone who helped in the search for Steven and those that assisted in our enquiries.”

Meanwhile, on their Facebook page, Killin Mountain Rescue Team wrote:“After being deployed by Forth Valley Police Division on Friday, we are delighted to report that following a multi-agency two-day search in Callander a missing person has been found safe and well.

“The search involved Mountain Rescue Team members from ourselves and neighborin­g Scottish Mountain Rescue teams of Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, Ochils Mountain Rescue Team, Tayside Mountain Rescue Team, Search & Rescue Dog Associatio­n (Scotland) and SARDA Southern Scotland.

“Additional multi-agency resources also included Trossachs SAR and air support from Police Scotland and drones from the volunteers at Search & Rescue Aerial Associatio­n - Scotland.

“Killin Mountain Rescue Team would like to thank the efforts of everyone involved in the search in and around Callander.”
