New Blairlogie homes

-

Eight new homes look set to be built in Blairlogie.

Stirling Council planners have granted conditional approval of an application by Calley Ltd for the houses along with an access road and landscaping at Gogar Mains off Gogar Road.

Three representations were submitted, including comments from Blairlogie Community Council.

Among issues raised were concerns about connectivity to services, comments about the existing houses on the site and queries about how the self build aspect of the development would work.

In their decision, council planners said:“A planning condition requires further proposals to be submitted for an‘infrastructure package’ which would address the servicing of the site with utilities.

“The approved details of the‘infrastructure package’would be carried out by the developer on site in readiness for each plot to be developed thereafter following approval of one or more applications for the eight plots. This is critical, as without the overall pre-planned layout of infrastructure being implemented then the subsequent piecemeal development would not be feasible.

“The farmhouse and bungalow are to be retained as part of this proposal - any refurbishment/extension plans/proposals will be brought forward separately in due course.

“Planning conditions have been applied which require forthcoming applications to comply with design parameters for siting and design.”

The site is in countryside around 850 metres south east of Blairlogie and from the junction of Gogar Loan. The existing farm and two houses on the site are accessed off Gogar Loan.

The planners added:“The planned layout of the self -build plots is largely over the area of existing buildings on the site and so it relates to the existing area of brownfield land and buildings.”
