A magical adventure

-

Almost 150 children and adults enjoyed a magical time in the heart of Stirling on Sunday.

The young walkers and their families had signed up for a sponsored Fairytale Trail organised by Stirling gift shop Tinkerbells Emporium.

The store’s owner Lisa Davidson and Laura Mcclintock of Nevermore Tattoo Studios are fundraising for the National Autistic Society.

The 2km trail - which featured favourite fairytale and story characters such as the Three Bears, Gruffalo, Pinocchio, The Gingerbread Man, Rapunzel and more helped to raise almost £2,200.

Lisa said: “The Fairytale Trail on Sunday was totally amazing.

“Over 140 excited children and wonderful grown ups turned up, dressed up ready to walk 2km along a woodland path to see all of the characters hiding amongst the trees.

“They saw everyone from The Tin Man at the start line to The Gruffalo hiding in the deep dark woods in Kings Park, where they all crossed the finish line and got some lovely gifts to take home to say thank you.

“Our little people with their grown ups raised an amazing £2194.56 for charity. It’s an outstanding total. We honestly can’t thank them all enough for all of their donations, enthusiasm, laughter and love yesterday.

“The fundraising is being done by both myself and the amazing Laura Mcclintock of Nevermore Tattoo Studios - which is across the street from Tinkerbells Emporium.

“Laura was dressed as Maleficent yesterday - and I was Tinkerbell.

“We did all of the art for the trail and it was such a success that we are going to do it again next Easter too.

“Everyone had such an amazing time and it really brought magic to Stirling yesterday. People were even stopping me for photographs.

“It truly was an amazing day and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.

“Special thanks to Lia, Claire, Jada and Hayley for making the pre-walk street magic happen and also to Susan and Katy for getting everyone across the road safely. Thanks also to our family and friends for showing up and supporting us. It meant so much.”

Lisa and Laura are continuing their fundraising with a Rock Hunt Trail in the summer and a Halloween Street Party for children in October, plus finally a 5km Alton Towers Race with six rollercoasters in November.

“All of our fundraising will finally take us to climb Machu Picchu in September 2023,” said Lisa. “We are already looking to raise more than our £10,000 target and couldn’t be more excited.”
