Chair told he should lead by example

-

Dear Editor

way to work with respect, or at the very least good manners, I couldn’t attend meetings chaired by him. I have received no reply. I understand Councillor Laurie had similar experiences and also wrote a letter.

I am genuinely sad that Mr Mcclung can’t find a way to work with two of his three ward councillors. I remain committed to finding a way forward.

As the chair of a community council, Mr Mcclung has a responsibility to lead by the power of his example in the language he uses and the way he talks to, and about, other people.

I do not think it unreasonable to expect a community council to be a safe and welcoming forum for everyone. In this regard, I believe Mr Mcclung has some work to do.

Community councillors, like Stirling councillors, are elected by their communities. I can cope knowing Mr Mcclung won’t be voting for me. I’m sure he can cope knowing I won’t be voting for him.

Councillor Chris Kane
