ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. Members of the Alva community are welcome at all meetings and can request to join a meeting by emailing info@alvacommun­itycouncil.org. uk. Councillor Alasdair Macpherson is re-instating online surgeries and home visits. These would be on an ad-hoc basis where the constituen­t would contact him via email or telephone to arrange. LADYWELL CHURCH

Easter Sunday service at 11.15am, bring your bonnets and painted eggs. Tea and coffee will be available after the service. Coffee morning tomorrow (Thursday) is from 10.30am till noon. On Saturday, April 16 the monthly coffee morning will be from 10.30am until noon. Please come along and enjoy the fellowship.

ALLAN CHURCH

Easter service on Sunday at 11.15am will be led by Rev Peter Gill. All welcome to attend. Please take a lateral flow test before coming to church. Church of Scotland mitigation­s are still in place. Face masks are optional under Scottish Government guidelines but should be worn on entry and exiting church and hand sanitisers and face masks are available (in case you forget your own and still wish to use one). Collection­s for the foodbank can be left in the church. Last Lenten Bible Study at 2pm in Allan Church Community Hall today (Wednesday) and Bible Study continues every Wednesday at the same time. On Easter Saturday (April 16) from 10am till noon, there is an Easter Egg competitio­n for the children, entry £3.50. Tombola and home baking stall.

ALLAN CHURCH TUESDAY COFFEE CLUB

The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. Next meeting is April 19. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending.

BANNOCKBUR­N BUTTERCUP CAFÉ

The cafe in Allan Church Community Hall is postponed at the moment due to the rise in Covid cases. Please watch this space for further updates.

MURRAYFIEL­D UF CHURCH

Murrayfiel­d’s Easter Sunday service will be led by Rev Gary Barclay in the church hall at10.30am, and will also be available on Youtube at Murrayfiel­d UF Online from 10.30am onwards. The Indoor Walking Group meets on Zoom at 4pm on Mondays and Fridays - details from Jean Hastings.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

Saturday, April 9 was the opening day for the club, hosted by Ladies’ President Liz Davis and Gents President Phil Howarth. The competitio­n was a Gents’ President’s team against a Ladies’ President’s team with the Gents winning by 48-42. The most successful rink was Phil Howarth, Jean Fisher, Jas Robertson and Kay Fairgrieve who had a winning margin of 18 points. Monday, April 11 and today (Wednesday) at 1.45pm sees the start of the Ladies’ rink sessions and Wednesday, April 20 sees the start of the Gents evening rink sessions starting at 6.45pm. The last carpet bowls session will take place tonight (Wednesday) at 6.45pm. Last Friday’s Joker prize was won by Bill Mcgill.

Today (Wednesday) ‘The Miracle Maker’ - an animated film about the life of Jesus - will be shown in the church hhall from 10-11.30am. The church will also be Open for Prayer from 10am-noon. PARK CHURCH

On Easter Sunday there will be a halfhour informal service at the King’s Park (meet near the tennis courts) at 7.30am. The Easter Family service led by the Rev Attie Van Wyk will be at 11am in the church. Tea and coffee will be served at tables after the service in the Main Hall and all are welcome to come for a chat and fellowship. The Stirling Kirks Together Friendship Lunch is in the Main Hall today (Wednesday) at noon. Homemade soup, filled rolls and home baking. Everyone of any age is invited to come and bring a friend. Coffee Club will take place in the Main Hall tomorrow (Thursday) from 10.30am to 11.30am - everyone is welcome to join us for a cuppa and a chat.
