‘Wonderful’ Barbara to help raise hospice cash

Talented vocalist Barbara Bryceland will be performing at a fundraiser for Strathcarr­on Hospice in Drymen next month.

In 2007 Barbara hit television screens when she entered The X Factor singing ‘Somewhere’.

She went on to win rave reviews as a contestant on BBC’S The Voice, with judge Sir Tom Jones branding her vocals as “wonderful”.

She has also chalked up several hundred thousand views on Youtube and has supported stars including Sophie Ellis-bextor and Joe Mcelderry.

Her latest gig see her performing at the West Stirlingsh­ire Friends of Strathcarr­on Hospice annual ladies night in the Winnock Hotel on Friday May 6.

Friends secretary Tina Morrison said: “Barbara has become a firm favourite with the public.

“Due to the recent pandemic, fundraisin­g for Strathcarr­on and other charities have been severely hit. After being unable to hold the dinner in May 2020 and May 2021 we held a successful mid term ladies night in October 2021 which raised over £4000.

“Our Hogmanay ceilidh had to be cancelled due to Covid rules so we are holding the 2022 annual Ladies Night on May 6 (which is our usual time of year for the dinner).”

The evening consists of a welcome glass of bubbly, a three course meal and entertainm­ent by Barbara.there is also a raffle and some amazing items up for bids.
