Enjoying a cuppa with police officers and members of the old folks club at the Baptist Church in Murray Place, Stirling, in October, 1984, is Green Cross Code Man Dave Prowse. Those of a certain age will remember that Dave, in his green and white costume, was the figurehead for the Department of Transport’s child pedestrian safety campaign. The ex-boxer, famous for his role as Darth Vader in `Star Wars’ ,was on a four-day tour of Central Scotland. He is pictured with Constable Andy Rodger and Sergeant Jim Blyth and Mrs Taylor, Mrs Kelly, Mrs Kilsey and Mrs Melville.
