Police recovered £85,000 worth of class-a drugs and over £30,000 in cash after a man was nabbed in a Wee County street last week.

A 33-year-old man has been charged following a “proactive operation” in Menstrie Road, Tullibody.

On Monday, April 11 a warrant was executed at a premises in the street.

A quantity of cocaine and cutting agent was recovered, with a combined estimated street value of up to £85,000.

In addition, around £31,000 in cash was also recovered.

The man was due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 12.

Detective Inspector John Currie, of Stirling CID, said: “This significan­t recovery reinforces our determinat­ion to target serious and organised crime.

“Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communitie­s and people’s lives can be ruined.

“I want to reassure the public that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.

“Serious and organised crime has no place in our society and we will continue to disrupt this, and any other criminal activity, which impacts on our lives and our communitie­s.”
