Wolves win tops off family day
The popular Stirling County Club Day returned to the calendar on Saturday after Covid featuring rugby for all age groups with more than 300 players involved.
Overall there were 10 games of rugby organised across the day and the minis had a fun training session which was followed by the P7s vs. Parents/coaches.
Some familiar faces appeared in the Legends vs Heroes games which was a mixture of senior rugby players from years gone by, the Wolves 2nd XV and the Under 18s who will be moving up to senior rugby next year.
The final game of the day was the end of season Tennents National League 1 clash between Kelso and
Stirling County Wolves 1st XV.
Back in September, Kelso won 26-18 but in front of their biggest crowd of the season, Wolves, captained and led from the front by Shaun Macdonald, put on a fantastic 80 minute performance.
They quickly worked had to take the game by the scruff of the neck and were soon leading three tries to nil.
Kelso kept pulling the score back but with a superb show, County secured a 36-19 victory, helped by Adam Shaw scoring a hat trick.
Thanks go to Stewart Milne, who along with Emma Mcdonald, Darren Cochrane and Allan Imrie put in a huge amount of work to arrange a superb day for all the players and their friends and family.
