Rovers clock up two vital league victories

-

Finnart 2-4 Cambusbarron Rovers

Following on from their 2-0 midweek win over Kilsyth the Rovers travelled through to Glasgow and picked up another three points.

They were caught out early by Finnart’s pacy no 8 and he was brought down in the box for a penalty which was well struck to open the scoring in the 8th min,

It took the visitors 20 mins to get a foothold on the game to fashion an equaliser. A corner from the right was met by Sandro Deluca who headed home to level the scoreline

It was no surprise the Rovers scored again ten minutes later when Kyle Allison hit a fine shot from the edge of the box which flew into the net to put the Rovers in front. However slack play giving the ball away in midfield almost immediately allowed Finnart to square the game just on half time with an effort just inside the box

Two goals early in the second half settled the result and the points for the visitors. In the 48th min Mark Flynn scored with a well struck penalty awarded after a barge into the back of Kyle Allison.

Gianni Deluca went close twice within five mins but both his efforts went over the bar but he made no mistake in the 54th min when he ran onto a excellent pass by Kyle Allison to run through and round the keeper to extend the Rovers lead.

There were other chances but none taken in a comfortable win for the Rovers.

Tonight Wednesday they play Milton with a 6.45pm ko at Bluebellwood Park, but have no game next Saturday
