Amy Smith - Scottish Greens

-

Amy Smith - Stirling North Amy Smith, aged 25, has lived, worked, and studied in Stirling for the last six years.

She has recently served as the Student Union president at Stirling University. In that time, she secured a rent freeze, established a community building initiative to connect hundreds of students during the lockdown, and campaigned alongside many other young people for Stirling Council to declare a climate emergency.

Now taking her experience as an advocate for environmental and social justice to Stirling Council, she would like to see an accelerated climate plan and targets sooner than 2045; the implementation of rent controls as soon as possible; and for communities to have more say in local decision-making (including on council budgets).

The climate crisis is the most pressing issue of our time, which is why the Scottish Greens are asking you to think global, act local, and give us your first preference vote this election.
