Jen Preston - Stirling West

Labour’s Jen Preston is a public sector worker and Unison member.

Jen says: “‘my primary mission is to address the cost of living crisis and help improve lives.

“I first got involved in politics because I was angry about how difficult it was to find good quality, affordable housing. We must build more social housing of the right size in the right places which is energy efficient to keep our bills down.

“We need to recycle more, not double the number of bin lorries dumping rubbish into landfill as the Tories plan.

“We need to regularly review council charges, from parking to bins, to ensure they are affordable and necessary.

“I want local planning obligations enforced and I’ll encourage businesses to respect community priorities. I support investment to eliminate potholes and increase safe cycling and pedestrian routes. We shouldn’t build new roads but focus on better public transport for Stirling with locally owned busses that put people before profit.

“We need more resources to tackle anti-social behaviour in our parks and streets.”
