Paul Henke served in the Royal Navy, specialising in underwater bomb disposal and clandestine operations.
He qualified for command of minesweepers and left the RNR with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Paul then built a successful financial services business before leaving to concentrate on being an author. His 20th book is due for publication soon.
Paul has lived in Balfron for 24 years and was chair of the community council for five years.
Paul said:“i have seen our council slowly but surely deteriorate with basic infrastructure not being maintained and services like our bin collections fail.
“Our council and those that depend on it have been let down by years of poor leadership from the SNP and Labour. I decided to stand for election to fight for Forth & Endrick’s communities and seek a better run council that concentrates on running reliable and cost-efficient services.”
