Labour’s Gerry Mcgarvey has lived in Gartmore for nearly 20 years and is a community councillor and Community Developmenttrustee.
Gerry says:“my primary mission will be to address the cost of living crisis and help improve lives in these challenging times.
“My ward priorities include ensuring we receive a fair share of resources and that a rural perspective is included in every council decision.
“I’ll support more investment in rural roads, with safe cycling and pedestrian routes, the elimination of potholes, better summer traffic management plans and, crucially, regular inspections of all bridges.
“I’ll protect our green belt and tell the Scottish Government to stay out of local planning issues.
“I’ll fight for effective public transport; we need a publicly supported bus network that puts communities before profits, with fares capped at £1.80.
