Cloudy noteto endapril

- SCOTT MCLEAN

We had good spells of sunshine last week and out of the breeze it felt rather warm in the Spring sun.

The top temperature was 18.6 Centigrade with lows staying above freezing all week. Away from direct sunlight though it did feel chilly at times with a brisk breeze developing on most days last week.

It’s been a reasonably dry April so far and that continued with only 0.50mm of rainfall.

Wind speeds reached 30mph on Saturday, April 23.

There may be a few sunny intervals mid-week but the month of April is set to end on a mostly cloudy note but hopefully staying dry during the week but some rain could develop later in the week and over the weekend. With little sun it will be a cool week with highs of around 14ºc and the cloud will keep lows above freezing dropping to 2ºc. It will be breezy at times.

Did You know –The month of April continues to be one of our driest months in recent years. With less than one week of the month to go we have recorded only one inch of rainfall (25mm). Last year was even lower with only 8.63mm of rainfall and even that was more than our lowest on record of 5.57mm during April 2017.
