House could be replaced

-

A house in Aberfoyle could be demolished and replaced with a new home.

Eva-konstanze Christine Werstler has submitted an application to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park planners to demolish a two bedroomed bungalow and garage at Dunardry on Manse Road and build another two-bedroomed bungalow.

The plans include a revised driveway with parking and turning for two vehicles plus a service bay for a single track access road.

Dunardry is one of two properties originally constructed as a dwelling for forestry staff, with the second house sitting further uphill.

Architects say they have been appointed to replace the house with “a high quality, sustainable home which builds upon the positive aspects of the existing plot”.

In submitted documents the agents said:“we propose demolishing the existing house and garage and replacing them with a super-insulated single-storey home of a similar height, but better oriented to maximise private gardens, and with larger tripleglazed windows for enhanced views out, more natural light and passive solar gain. Circulation areas, living room, kitchen and shower rooms have all been designed with ease of access for wheelchair users or those with other mobility issues.”
