I have lived in Stirling for many years and worked in health care locally for the majority of my professional life.

Stirling is a good place to live but could be very much better. There are opportunities to build healthier, happier communities with less impact on the environment by supporting local food producers, promoting active lifestyles, investing in better insulated homes, better maintained roads and public spaces, and greener transport.

Scottish Liberal Democrats will promote policies and initiatives which support these aims.

Stirling Council has powers to ensure sustainable housing development with appropriate infrastructure of schools, shops, green spaces and public transport. Scottish Liberal Democrats will work to achieve the building of new communities needed within our area.

Scottish Liberal Democrats believe that people in Stirling should be trusted to make decisions about local priorities and how their own taxes are spent.

Demands for another independence referendum are a wasteful distraction from the big concerns of our time, from the cost of living crisis to the tragedy of Ukraine and the plight of refugees. Scottish Liberal Democrats will keep the focus on what matters to local people.
