PETITION WAR OVER NEW STORE
Rival views on Asda development

Two rival petitions have been launched for and against a new Asda store in Stirling as part of a £20million development.
In January permission was granted for the new development at Crookbridge, south of the
Wickes DIY store, including offices, retail, drive-thru restaurant, car showroom and car parking.
The developers said it would net 250 jobs.
Stirling Council initially approved the plans but then the Scottish Government called it in for review.
Scottish Ministers, who are said to have concerns about implications for retail policy across Scotland, will have the final say on the superstore plan.
Now those calling for the new facility to be built have gone head-to-head with objectors to gather support.
