Fire crews called to Fubar blaze

Firefighte­rs were called to popular nightspot after a blaze broke out that left two people needing treatment.

The alarm was raised at the Fubar nightclub, in Maxwell Place, shortly after 8am on Saturday.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokespers­on said:“we were alerted at 8.16am on Saturday, April 30, to reports of a building fire at Maxwell Place, Stirling.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and a height vehicle to the scene to extinguish the fire and make the area safe. Two male casualties were handed into the care of paramedics.”

Following the incident, Fubar posted a snap on its Instagram page which read:‘don’t worry everything is fine with our beloved Fubar.

‘The fire brigade just wanted a cheeky night out’.

The post was accompanie­d with a laughing emoji, and a caption which read:‘this morning you may have seen a fire truck at the Fubar. Don’t stress everything is fine!’
