ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. Members of the Alva community are welcome at all meetings and can request to join a meeting by emailing info@alvacommun­itycouncil.org. uk. LADYWELL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday), the coffee morning is from 10am till noon. All welcome to come along and enjoy coffee and cake. Rev Liz Robertson will lead the service on Sunday. Tea and coffee will be available in the small hall after the service. On Monday, May 9 at 1.30pm the Ladies Group will meet, anyone wishing to join will be made welcome.

ALLAN CHURCH

Service on Sunday at 11.15am. All welcome to attend. Collection­s for the foodbank can be left in the church. Your support is vital especially in these times and much appreciate­d. Board and session meet on Wednesday, May 11 at 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend.

ALLAN CHURCH TUESDAY COFFEE CLUB

The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending.

TEA’S COMPANY

Held every Monday between 2pm and 4pm in the Honeyman Hall at Bridge of Allan Parish Church, Tea’s Company is a community group for those who want a chat, make new friends, feeling lonely or isolated. Friendly atmosphere. Free cake and tea. Members play bingo, hold quizzes, singalongs and have theme days.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

On Saturday, Bridge of Allan played host to Spittalmyr­e in a friendly fixture which resulted in a win for Bridge of Allan by 59-37. Bridge of Allan skips scores were - S Ingram 14-6; P Howarth 12-11; R Guy 10-11; R Fairgrieve 23-9. Saturday, May 7 sees the club play at Balfron in another friendly fixture. Last Friday’s Joker prize was won by Jimmy Mckenzie.

ST SAVIOUR’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Wednesday morning quiet Eucharist continues today at 11am in the choir vestry. There will be coffee after the service. On Sunday, the 10am service will be led by lay readers - Nick Price will be leading the service and Sue White will be the preacher. It is the Fourth Sunday of Easter, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday when Sue’s theme will be nurturing the faith. There will be refreshmen­ts in the church hall after the service. THE BRUCE MEMORIAL CHURCH

All welcome to join for worship on Sunday at 11am, looking at Truth and Godliness in the Church from Titus 1.
