Milton hit eight in Rothesay romp

-

Milton 8-1 Rothesay Brandane

Milton bounced back in style from a midweek 5-2 defeat at Kilsyth to thump bottom of the table Rothesay on Saturday.

Johnston went close early on with a header that went narrowly past but minutes later Hendrie opened the scoring with a terrific header from a Breslin corner kick.

Mcdonald then netted the second after being set up by Johnston and the game looked over after Mitchell set up Breslin who was fouled in the box and Hendrie converted the penalty.

A slack moment 10 minutes before the break allowed Rothesay to pull a goal back but the second half was all Milton and Breslin got his second and Milton’s fourth just before Gardiner headed home Milton’s number five.

The Rothesay keeper pulled off some fine saves but could do nothing to stop Breslin scoring number six after good play from Hendrie and Hendrie himself completed his hat trick after great play from Mitchell. Stewart finished off the scoring.

Tonight (Wednesday) Milton are at home to Westerlands in a league match and on Saturday are away to St Mungos in the Presidents Cup.
