Tappit Hen gets ‘pecked’ for pub of the year prize

-

A poplar Dunblane watering hole has been named‘pub of the year’as part of campaign for “real ale”.

Forth Valley CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) awarded The Tappit Hen, in Kirk Street, the accolade.

CAMRA’S National Pub of the Year is the annual competition to find the very best pub in the UK.

Every year local CAMRA members vote to select their favourite real ale pubs in the Forth Valley - one of the largest branches by area, from Crianlarich to Armadale in West Lothian.

Wendy Ross, of CAMRA, said:“to be considered, it’s essential that the venues sell real ale in good condition – as measured by members’beer scores. The top five were then judged by volunteers and the winner was The Tappit Hen.”

Branch Chairman, Ian Young, presented the staff with their award.

The Tappit Hen is now through to the next round of the regional Pub Of The Year for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
