ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is hosting a family fun day in the Cochrane Park on Saturday, June 4 from noon until 4pm. The fun day is titled A Right Royal Fun Day as a way of celebratin­g the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The community council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. Members of the Alva community are welcome at all meetings and can request to join a meeting by emailing info@alvacommun­itycouncil. org.uk. Please make your request to join the meeting two clear days prior to the meeting date. If you would like an item, put on an agenda, please email info@ alvacommun­itycouncil.org.uk. Elected Clackmanna­nshire councillor­s, police representa­tives and subgroups will be sent a link by email, to Alva CC meetings automatica­lly. HOLIDAY CAMP

TUESDAY COFFEE CLUB

The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending.

BANNOCKBUR­N BUTTERCUP CAFÉ

The cafe in Allan Church Community Hall requires more volunteers to enable it to restart successful­ly. Organisers cannot run safely without volunteers and helpers so please come along and help. There will be a meeting on Monday, May 30 at 1.30pm or call Lesley on 07968 329764 if you would like to discuss. The aim is to be open every Monday once there are enough helpers.

MURRAYFIEL­D UNITED FREE CHURCH

Sunday’s service will be led by Rev Gary Barclay in the church hall at10.30am and will also be available on Youtube at Murrayfiel­d UF Online from 10.30am onwards. There is a meeting in the church hall tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm for those involved in organising the joint churches’ children’s holiday club in August. The Indoor Walking Group meets on Zoom at 4pm on Mondays and Fridays - details from Jean Hastings. The outdoor walking group (known as Tea in the Park) meets on Friday, May 27 with an observatio­nal walk in Ladywell Park, starting at 2pm at the Bruce Street car park - all welcome.

LADYWELL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday) the weekly coffee morning takes place between 10.30am and noon. All welcome to come along for tea, coffee and cakes and a blether. On Sunday the service is at 11.15am. Tea and coffee will be available in the small hall after the service. The Summer Fete will be held on Saturday, June 11. The church is still collecting provisions for Ladies of the Rock. Donations can be placed in the boxes in the vestibule.

BRAEHEAD STIRLING NORTH PARISH CHURCH

The Sunday service will take place at 10.30am and will be led by Rev Scott Mcinnes. This service will also be livestream­ed on the website www. stirlingno­rth.org/whats-on/livestream. ROCK AND REEL

The popular seated class has resumed In Bridge of Allan Parish Church Hall on Tuesdays from 1.45-2.30pm followed by coffee and a chat. Cost £5 per session. All welcome, suitable for wheelchair users. TEA’S COMPANY

Held every Monday between 2pm and 4pm in the Honeyman Hall at Bridge of Allan Parish Church, Tea’s Company is a community group for those who want a chat, make new friends, feeling lonely or isolated. Friendly atmosphere. Free cake and tea. Members play bingo, hold quizzes, singalongs and have theme days.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN PARISH CHURCH

Sunday worship will be held in the church at 11am, the service will be led by Rev David Clark. Children are invited to attend the first part of the serviced then on to Sunday Club after the children’s talk. ST SAVIOUR’S CHURCH

The Wednesday morning quiet Eucharist continues this week at 11am, in the choir vestry. There will be coffee after the service. Tomorrow (Thursday) is Ascension Day and there will be an evening service at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Albert Place, Stirling at 7.30pm. This is a joint service with Holy Trinity, St Saviour’s in Bridge of Allan and St Mary’s, Dunblane. The Rev Joan Lyon will be the celebrant in St Saviour’s on Sunday, May 29 at 11am. It is the Seventh Sunday of Easter. There will not be refreshmen­ts in the church hall after the service as the church is hosting Bridge of Allan Open Gardens (under Scotland’s Garden Scheme). Entry to all six gardens and allotments is £5 and is payable at St Saviour’s from 1-5pm. Teas and scones (£3.50) are in the church hall from 2-4.30pm. The new comfortabl­e chairs have arrived and look splendid now they are in place. The church is open every day from 10am until 4pm for private prayer and meditation - everyone is welcome.

BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

For the first time this season, the club lost a friendly match when hosting Stirling Bowling Club on Saturday. The overall result was Bridge of Allan 34-41 Stirling. Bridge of Allan Skips scores were K Wilkie 11-7, S Ingram 8-10, I Wright 7-14 and R Fairgrieve 8-10. On Friday evening the club held a fun bowls and cheese and wine event. The fun bowls, via a convoluted and entertaini­ng scoring method, rewarded the highest losers. Enough said! The cheese and wine was equally entertaini­ng. The club has no friendly fixture on Saturday, May 28 but is holding an open day and try bowls event on Sunday, May 29. The first prizes of the season for the ladies and gents rink games have been awarded. The ladies top prize was won by Liz Davis while Phil Howarth won the gents.

CAMBUSBARR­ON BRUCE MEMORIAL CHURCH

LOGIEOGG (LOGIE OLD GRAVEYARD GROUP)

There will be a work day at the Old Kirk on Saturday, May 28 between 10am and noon to prepare the site for summer visitors. If you can spare a couple of hours to come along to help with some light gardening work, the group will be delighted to see you.

CITY CENTRE QUEEN STREET METHODIST CHURCH

Sunday worship will be held at 10.30am. It will be led by Graeme Johnson. The service will be both in person and accessible on Zoom. It will include a talk, film and discussion on a range of related issues, food security, waste, climate change during a time of war and a cost of living crisis. HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm, there will be a Sung Eucharist for Ascension Day and on Sunday, May 29 at 10.30am. there will be a Sung Eucharist for the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Tots Cafe meets at 10am on Mondays. The Wellspring­s prayer group will meet every Tuesday morning until June 21.
