Meal appeal for rescued baby badgers

-

The Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers to donate food for the seven badgers currently in the care of their National Wildlife Rescue Centre, in Fishcross.

The wildlife hospital is in desperate need of tins of Chappie dog food for badger cubs Maggot, Louse, Midgie, Cricket, Lady, Bug and Beetle. Food can be purchased from the centre’s Amazon wish list or via any other online retailer offering direct delivery to the centre.

Centre assistant manager April Dodds, said,“we are desperately needing donations of tins of Chappie dog food. The badger cubs in our care are going through a crazy amount each day.

“Maggot, Louse, Midgie, Cricket, Lady, Bug and Beetle were found in different locations across Scotland, in similar circumstances. They had all sadly been separated from their mothers, and were lethargic and emaciated.

“Thanks to our dedicated team we are so pleased to report that they have been nursed back to health and are now thriving.

“They will continue their rehabilitation to prepare them for life back in the wild, and will be released later this year. Chappie dog food is one of the main ingredients of their meals, and donations will help us keep them at healthy weights until then.

“We are so thankful for your support so that we can continue to provide the best possible care to Scotland’s beautiful wildlife.”

Food items can be donated via the centre’s Amazon wish list here: https://amzn.to/3ln57kt or sent from another online retailer that can deliver. Items can also be handed in daily between 1pm and 4pm to the reception at the Scottish SPCA National Wildlife Rescue Centre, Fishcross, Clackmannanshire, FK10 3AN.
