Sunny spells will be a welcome start to June

-

May 2022 will not be remembered for settled weather conditions with the final full week of the month bringing yet more breezy and cloudy weather, writes Observer weather editor Scott Mclean.

Despite the lack of settled weather thankfully it has not been a wet month although it’s been breezy with the wind frequently gusting to over 40mph at times.

Temperatures reached a maximum of 19.3 Centigrade on Saturday, May 28, with a low of 7.3 Centigrade also on Saturday, May 28.

The maximum daily rainfall was 4.06mm on Sunday, May 22, for a weekly total of 9.64mm.

Wind speeds reached 38mph on Friday, May 27.

June will begin with sunny intervals developing during the week although a few showers cannot be ruled out. Sunny intervals are expected to continue into the weekend although cloud and rain risk could increase towards the beginning of next week which will hopefully not move in until after the weekend.

Top temperatures of between 17-21 Centigrade with lows down to 4 Centigrade.

Thankfully after a breezy May the beginning of June will begin on a less windy note.

Did You Know – We are now in the first of the summer months and it was during June 2018 when we experienced our all-time Stirling Weather highest temperature recording 32.3 Centigrade on June 28. The lowest recorded June temperature was 3.6 Centigrade back in 2013.
