Bemused by the cosying up of parties
Dear Editor, What has happened to voting in Scotland?
What has happened after the recent local elections in Stirling, appears to have happened in other councils across Scotland.
Labour and Conservative councillors have married in order to try and hijack the good work of the SNP. It seems to be that there is a larger strategic political picture here. Is it not possible that Scottish Labour and Scottish Conservative
Parties have got together in order to undermine SNP’S work because neither of those parties want Scottish independence? This is beyond local issues.
Therefore, if you are a Scottish Labour voter, you also vote for Scottish Conservatives and if you are a Scottish Conservative voter you are also voting for Scottish Labour. Where is the difference? It is the Tony Blair effect all over again.
The main party in Scotland who stays true to its aim is, in effect, the SNP.

Walktogetherplea Dear Editor
I wanted to make your readers aware that Bowel Cancer UK, the UK’S leading bowel cancer charity, are calling on everyone to Walk Together this June.
Complete a five-mile walk on Saturday, June 11 or another day in June that suits you, and ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you. All you need to do is raise a minimum of £100, which will go towards their vital services and lifesaving research.
Walk Together is a great way to show your support for those undergoing treatment and also remember loved ones. My mum sadly died of bowel cancer when she was only 54, which had a huge impact on my life. Bowel cancer is the UK’S second biggest cancer killer, but it shouldn’t be as it’s treatable and curable, especially when diagnosed early.
Bowel Cancer UK are entirely reliant on the generous support of people like you. Your fundraising will help them save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

Hubisaletdown Dear Editor
Castle View charging hub: As a frequent user of this top-notch facility can I please implore the owners/ managers to open the public toilets.
It’s inexplicable that these are permanently closed. A mobile catering van would also be most welcome.
A first-class facility spoiled by a lack of imagination and joined-up thinking. Graham Castle Stonehaven
Cashcoincidence? Dear Editor
In his column (Observer
May 25), Keith Brown MSP goes to some length to berate Chancellor Rishi Sunak for his uncaring lack of support for struggling households.
Then two days later, the same Chancellor announces a £21billion package including a £400 rebate on energy bills for every household in Britain, £1500 to those most in need along with various other measures.
Coincidence? Or maybe the Chancellor must read the Stirling Observer?
