Comfortable victory for County West keeps them in contention for Scottish Championship qualification
HAMILTON TROPHY
County West bowlers’fine form continued on Saturday when they recorded a third successive victory in the Hamilton Trophy.
At Kirn and Hunter’s Quay green in Dunoon they defeated Argyll and Bute by 13 shots to remain in contention for qualification in their section.
With three Scottish Counties championship matches remaining, West are now one of a four-team leading pack on six points vying for the two qualifying spots.
On Saturday County finished with four undefeated rinks. Kevan Frogley won25-14 v D Baker; Willie Black won 25-20 v C Dickson and Gary Malcolmson won 19-16 v Stevie Scott.
Elsewhere Pat Martin peeled 14-14 with C Goffin; David Ferguson lost 19-17 to A Mccrae while Sandy Deans lost 21-17 to A Scott. Totals: Stirling County West 117-104 Argyll and Bute.
County are at Troon on Saturday v Ayrshire.
