The Killearn Mile Fun Run 2022 will take place in Killearn Park tomorrow (Saturday) from 10-11.30am with up to 200 children, family and community members participating in what will be an active and fun filled family event.

The Killearn 10K Committee is working in partnership with Active Stirling and with Trossachs Search and Rescue providing first aid cover, to offer the Mile fun run as part of the Killearn 10K Race, which has already sold out, but the family fun run has been missing for the last few years due to the pandemic.

The committee has plotted a fun mile long route designed for anyone in the community to come and be a part of the day. A significant volunteer effort will provide marshals throughout the run, with Active Stirling helping with risk assessment, equipment, and planning for the event including a group warm up. There will be a party atmosphere at the start and finish in Killearn Park, and all participants will receive a medal to take home with them.

A committee member said: “The Mile is all about inclusivity and encouraging people of all ages and abilities to reap the benefits of an active lifestyle. It’s also about community: for the people who take part, for those who come to support them, and for the local people who work so hard to organise it, both all year round and on the day.”

Registration for the fun run is from 9-9.50am, Run starts at 10am, entry is £2. Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult (max two per adult). Under 18s must have entry form signed by a parent or guardian.
