Young sport leaders join panel

Sporting leaders from Stirling have joined sportscotl­and’syoung People’s Sport Panel.

Twenty young people from across Scotland are set to play a key role in influencin­g and shaping the future of sport over the next two years as part of the sportscotl­and.

Amongst this 20-strong group are two young leaders from Stirling who have been selected to join the new panel.

Naomi Gill and Kirstin Harper are delighted to be joining the panel and are looking forward to their first meeting in January 2023 and to begin this exciting journey.

The recruitmen­t process started back in August 2022, where over 136 applicatio­ns were submitted from people between the ages of 14 and 23 from 28 of the 32 local authority areas.

Interim Chief Executive of sportscotl­and, Forbes Dunlop, said:“i want to congratula­te all 20 of our new panel members and welcome them to the sportscotl­and family. They should all be extremely proud of themselves for coming through a challengin­g recruitmen­t process.

“Along with the rest of the team at sportscotl­and, I am looking forward to working with them and hearing their thoughts and ideas on how we can further improve the sporting system. We are incredibly proud of the Young People’s Sport Panel programme, which is delivered thanks to the support of Young Scot and the National Lottery and lottery players.’’
